So… you think you can design? (Part 4)

We’ve crossed some more important phaselines on this project since our last announcement seen HERE.

.

Part of my goals and beliefs in life are to offer mentoring and development of others (especially young people) as much as possible.

What I’m really pleased to announce is that this project has provided practical work experience to a young person to enable them to graduate their university studies in engineering. To be blunt, I’m pretty bloody chuffed about this. It made my week to be told that this small project has enabled a young person the practical work experience in product development to answer a client’s requirements to produce a workable product.

Should we achieve little further, then I would still consider this project a success just in terms of the mentoring and development of our design team member – who is now the Graduate Design Engineer here at Packs and Beyond.

.

The next important milestone is that we’re about to finalise the design and produce another 3D printed prototype to confirm this important step.

Then, we shall be looking at scale-up. Initial research is being conducted to find a suitable engineering workshop to partner with for mass manufacturing.

So…. if anyone can suggest an engineering workshop with CNC capability, preferably in the Brisbane/South East Queensland area that they know of, I’m all ears!
