REVIEW – SORD LIGHT FIELD ANORAK

ITEM: Light Field Anorak

MANUFACTURER: SORD Australia

DESCRIPTION:

As the name implies, this is an anorak. It’s designed to be a mid or outer layer for wear during cold conditions in static locations.

REVIEW NOTES:

This garment has been graciously supplied by SORD.

I have received no financial compensation for the review of this item. I have done the review (like many with supplied equipment) with the proviso that I will be painfully honest in my assessment of this item.

The Light Field Anorak has had limited field testing due to real life getting in the way.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Social Media Shenanigans

Team,

It’s been brought to my attention that persons unknown have created a Facebook page making statements about an Australian military equipment supplier.
The Australian company in question is Platatac.

I would like to highlight the facts as they stand at this point:
a. I have absolutely no involvement with this page, or it’s organizers to the best of my knowledge.
b. This Facebook page has used some of my photos without permission.
c. I do not agree with how the issues on this Facebook page is raised.

Whilst I have had issues with Platatac and some of their business practices, and even had some negative interactions with their personnel in the past, I do not feel a Facebook page conducted according to this concept is the most conducive method to air grievances. Hence I cannot condone, or agree with this Facebook page.

Thank you for your time and patience.

INDUSTRY NEWS – Oneiros Valley

Our friends at Oneiros Valley have announced some great news. Their Load Lifting Panel, which I’ve reviewed previously (see HERE) is now moving to production. They also have just given me a sneak peek of a larger Lumbar Pad for those who find the lumbar cushion on the Mystery Ranch too small, or wish better comfort with combat armour.
There are plans afoot for me to review the new Lumbar Pad in the new future, so keep watching this space.

Oneiros Valley are now offering a chance to win your own LLP and Lumbar Pad.
It’s easy to enter, all you have to do is go to their Facebook page and “Like” them.

INDUSTRY NEWS – Spiderhole Military Gear Reviews

My wanderings across the interwebs has found another point of view from an Australian perspective.

The bloke behind Spiderhole Military Gear Reviews has far more experience of soldiering than I do, and somewhat similar views on equipment usage.

It’s great to see more Aussies getting their voices heard in the wilderness.

Check it out on:

REVIEW – Oneiros Valley Load Lifter Panel

ITEM: Load Lifter Panel

MANUFACTURER: Oneiros Valley

DESCRIPTION:

An after-market accessory for the Mystery Ranch NICE frame, to better allow more adjustability of load lifting straps attached to the shoulder harness to be lifted from one to six inches. It’s like lengthening the frame, but without extending or increasing the ride height of the frame itself.
