INDUSTRY NEWS – ATS
I’ve been a wee bit naughty everyone.
ATS has some fantastic news to share about their Cobra Packs, but I’ve been too lazy to get it posted up.
I shall put myself in the pain machine to make up for it.
They boys at ATS have some great news about the further development of their Cobra Assault pack.

REVIEW – Mystery Ranch Overload Alpha
ITEM: Overload Alpha
MANUFACTURER: Mystery Ranch
DESCRIPTION:
A specialist patrol pack of 54L, but possesses an expandable cargo area between the frame and rucksack that is designed to carry awkward objects, such as mortar tubes, ammunition boxes and long rifles.
The unique design of this pack allows it to be used in two modes: a conventionally configured top-loading patrol pack, and expanded out to a cargo carrying mode.

A Belated Two Year Anniversary!
You may, or may not be aware that it’s been pretty busy for me here in the last few months.
The most amazing arrival of a child into the family has been keeping me pretty busy – so busy that I missed the second anniversary for Packs and Beyond.

REVIEW – SealLine ILBE Sack 56L Assault Pack Liner
ITEM: ILBE Sack 56L Assault Pack Liner

A heavy duty dry bag made of to keep clothing and equipment dry.
Apparently these pack liners are on issue to the US Marines, since they spend a great deal of time crossing surf zones.

REVIEW – SORD LIGHT FIELD ANORAK
ITEM: Light Field Anorak
MANUFACTURER: SORD Australia
DESCRIPTION:
As the name implies, this is an anorak. It’s designed to be a mid or outer layer for wear during cold conditions in static locations.
REVIEW NOTES:
This garment has been graciously supplied by SORD.
I have received no financial compensation for the review of this item. I have done the review (like many with supplied equipment) with the proviso that I will be painfully honest in my assessment of this item.
The Light Field Anorak has had limited field testing due to real life getting in the way.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Social Media Shenanigans
Team,
It’s been brought to my attention that persons unknown have created a Facebook page making statements about an Australian military equipment supplier.
The Australian company in question is Platatac.
I would like to highlight the facts as they stand at this point:
a. I have absolutely no involvement with this page, or it’s organizers to the best of my knowledge.
b. This Facebook page has used some of my photos without permission.
c. I do not agree with how the issues on this Facebook page is raised.
Whilst I have had issues with Platatac and some of their business practices, and even had some negative interactions with their personnel in the past, I do not feel a Facebook page conducted according to this concept is the most conducive method to air grievances. Hence I cannot condone, or agree with this Facebook page.
Thank you for your time and patience.

REVIEW – Mystery Ranch ASAP
ITEM: ASAP Pack
MANUFACTURER: Mystery Ranch
DESCRIPTION:
A tri-zip assault pack, for up to 1-day use. The harness system is designed to be attached to combat body armour should the need arise.
It could be described as a smaller and simpler version of the same company’s 3 Day Assault Pack.
