Jan 9th Red Dots and Magnifiers

I’ve been wanting to try out the red dot and swing out magnifier concept for awhile.

Initially I played with the Bushnell 3x magnifier and the Arisaka Defense low magnifier mount on my .30-30.

I liked the concept, just not on my Marlin 336. Didn’t like the balance penalty.

But my Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39mm is a better choice for this red optic and swing out magnifier.

Just bought the Vortex Crossfire red dot as a Christmas present to myself. It fits perfectly with the Bushnell on the Arisaka mount.

Dryfire confirms my theory that this rifle is a better option. Off for zeroing when the range opens next week.
